Reflecting and Broadcasting

Sometimes I wonder how our present digital landscape influences personal reflection. The ability to instantaneously broadcast a thought can quickly shift an internal dialogue from, "What does this situation really mean?" to "How am I going to fit this into a tweet?"

Does the act of contemplation and musing fundamentally change when the space between a guarded thought and a global announcement is so small?

  1. Advertising comes to mind. Do not they use sumlinal messages all the time to further their selling points. Back in high school I remember reading about advertising and how they manipulate the image in a way that the their are real images hidden within the readily available image. If you looked closely you could see actual representations of objects that are hidden like in the art illusions we study to show how they eys is used as a perceptive instrument.
