A deep-dive on crafting presentations

I'm hosting a reprise of the Presenting with Precision workshop on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM ET

The purpose of the session is to help attendees increase the clarity and impact of their presentations at research conferences. However, anyone who speaks — or is planning to speak — in front of a live audience might find this session compelling.

To optimize everything from delivery, to presentation structure, to slide design, we take a "first principles" look at human communication, and then work backwards from there to the fundamentals of messaging, audience connection, narrative and storytelling, stage presence, etc.

This training session was developed as part of my role at Western University, but this April we are collaborating with some regional conferences to open this session freely to anyone who would like to participate. In-person, virtual, and post-event video (asynchronous) options are available. Learn more and register if you are interested.
