I think what makes micro.blog

I think what makes micro.blog unique is that it seems to be galvanizing a network of independent bloggers who genuinely care about networks, independence, and blogging. It’s where the #indieweb seems to be finding each other and coalescing.

  1. “I think what makes micro.blog unique is that it seems to be galvanizing a network of independent bloggers who genuinely care about networks, independence, and blogging.” — I’m not looking forward to being dipped in molten zinc.

  2. That’s exactly it! Manton didn’t design YASN (Yet Another Social Network) but used indieweb principles and basic technologies like RSS to reinvigorate bloggers, enabling them to take advantage of the network effects of a social-like environment.

The slowly-slowly approach of select individuals “indiewebifying” their site’s and relying on word of mouth to spread isn’t enough. Bloggers gathering in a familiar social environment allows them to connect in ways not seen before.
